A senior lawyer, Joanna brings varied experience of regulatory and compliance landscapes to her role managing the firm’s compliance and regulatory responsibilities.

Prior to joining GQ|Littler, Joanna led the legal, compliance and regulatory function at the Corporation of King’s College School, advising across several regulatory arenas including data protection, financial and anti-bribery, charity commission, child protection and education. She was responsible for the school’s data protection compliance and implemented the school’s anti-money laundering due diligence process.

Joanna has two decades of post-qualification experience. She qualified into the commercial dispute resolution team of Maclay Murray & Spens (now part of Dentons). She gained in-house experience in the litigation team at Network Rail advising on regulatory matters, general commercial disputes and contentious employment matters, particularly trade union disputes. She also assisted in the large-scale TUPE transfer of employees from maintenance companies to Network Rail.   

After Network Rail, Joanna joined the University of Law specialising in dispute resolution training, course design and development. During her time at the University she was appointed Associate Professor and National Programme Director of the Professional Development business at the University of Law. She was responsible for the compliance aspects of the regulated post- qualification and trainee development courses.   

Joanna has Higher Rights of Audience and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
